Dave Whitehead

Director, Qualified Builder

LifeBUILT owner and Managing Director Dave Whitehead is a second-generation carpenter who has been building since 1993. A trade-qualified builder, Dave has a gift for problem solving and enjoys working on new and different projects.

He’s passionate about building the best. “One of my strengths is that I’m constantly working to improve the way we build. The day I stop learning is the day I hang up my hammer.”

Dave chose to become a member of the New Zealand Certified Builders Association due to the organisation’s support of trade qualifications and rigorous entry requirements. Dave is a current national board member of New Zealand Certified Builders. He is also on the National BCITO Advisory Group and Auckland council customer advisory group. Dave is married to Cathie and together they have two daughters. The Whitehead family live on Auckland’s Hibiscus Coast.

John Howard

Project Manager, Qualified carpenter, LBP & NZCB

John supervises our larger projects and works with our teams while also communicating with our customers and being the conduit between the office and sites.

John’s experience and organisational skills are invaluable in ensuring our homes have a high-quality finish and that our customers’ expectations are met while also ensuring that everyone enjoys the process.

Des Hollier

Project Manager, Qualified carpenter, LBP & NZCB

Des keeps everything running smoothly, supervising jobs and keeping clients up to date with all the progress happening with their project. Des and his team take care of carpentry, and work collaboratively with subtrades and suppliers to ensure all the elements of the build come together efficiently.

Des takes pride in his work and gets great satisfaction from exceeding clients’ expectations.

Cathie Whitehead

Health & Safety Specialist, Registered Nurse

Cathie has been a registered nurse for 16 years and has recently joined the LifeBUILT team to ensure that health and safety policies are adhered to. Assisting with first aid and training, and putting together the site safety manuals and providing in-house support for our project managers. You may see her on the building site with her steel cap boots making sure all the staff and the site are safe.
